Selden

We are devastated to announce the passing of Robert Edward Hunter Jr., a beloved son, brother, brother in-law,uncle,cousin and friend

If you ask anyone who knew Robert, without a doubt, they'd say he was the funniest person they had ever met. His uncanny imitations, theatrical storytelling and quick wit made an impression on everyone. His storytelling brought belly-aching laughter and joy to any room he was in. He was an avid reader who religously read the paper and checked books from the library. If he saw something in the paper that he thought would interest you or that he wanted to share with you, he would save it and bring it to you the next time he saw you. He was incredibly thoughtful like that. His love of reading, intellect and particular passion for history practically made him a historian. He was easily the smartest person in our family. Robert also had a passion for gardening. He took such pride in his plants and vegetables both inside and outside the house. Many of the photos he has taken and shared have been of his lovely garden in his backyard. If anyone in the family had a gardening question or was unsure of what kind of plant something was, we knew to ask Robert. Almost one hundred percent of the time, he'd know the answer. Robert also loved to arrange flowers and routinely bought them for his mother. Like many others, Robert loved the holidays, particularly Christmas. A sentiment he inherited from his dad and that he shared with his siblings. He would meticulously decorate his home, spending countless hours and taking extraordinary care on his Christmas village. His Christmas wrapping was always perfect, to the point of looking professional. Despite the formality of his wrapping, he never hesitated to play a joke or what he called " a clever ruse". Like adding rocks or heavy objects to a giftbox to "throw off " the gift receiver. That was just one of the many, many ways he made us laugh and smile. He also had the most amazing handwriting and artistic ability, I can remember his nieces, nephews and others ask him to draw something and he would create a masterpiece. Robert is survived by his mother Helen (late father Robert E Hunter Sr.) and siblings Patricia Serra (late brother in-law Peter Serra) Susan Morena (Steve) and Jeffrey HunterSr.(Donna). Also by his nieces and nephews Jeffrey Jr.(Christina), Jake (Victoria), Rachel(Sal), Melissa(Rob) and his great nephews and niece Colton, Raylan,Luke and Gia. He is also survived by countless cousins, friends, and coworkers. Our lives and this world will never be the same without Roberts bright light and incredible spirit. May he Rest in Peace.
