Kenneth W. Krause, 84, beloved husband and devoted father, of Centereach, New York, passed away surrounded by his family. Born on February 5, 1942, in Brooklyn, he grew up in Queens, where he met the love of his life, Leonora. They married on May 25, 1968, and soon made their home in Centereach, NY, where they lived together for more than five decades.Ken served in the United States Army at Fort Davis in the Panama Canal Zone — where, to his lasting delight, he first discovered Dr. Pepper, a favorite he carried with him for the rest of his life. He had a lifetime of passions: gardening, bowling, scouting, and baseball—especially his beloved Yankees. He never lost his boyhood love of trains, cowboys, and Indians, and he was famously quick with math in his head. Above all, Ken loved his family. He was a dedicated, loving father who taught his two children so much about life, and a loyal, loving husband to Leonora until the very end.Kenneth will be deeply missed by his wife, Leonora; his children, Nancy and James; his son-in-law, James Donovan; his cherished grandchildren, Lena, Shamus, Miriam, and Adelaide; and his brothers, Robert and Dennis, and his sisters-in-law, Annmarie and Grace. He was predeceased by his loving sister, Pat, who passed away recently. The love Kenneth shared with his family will carry on with them.
