John Kubinski - 1928 – 2025
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Veteran, Athlete, and Financial Advisor

John Kubinski, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, proud veteran, and
accomplished financial advisor, passed away peacefully on June 24th. Born in
Richmond Hill, Queens, to Florence and John Kubinski, John’s life was marked by
dedication, service, and a deep commitment to his family, community, and country.
John attended Chaminade High School, where he developed a lifelong love of learning
and discipline. He continued his education at St. John's University, which laid the
foundation for a successful career in finance.
Before joining the military, John worked at a local bank, where fate introduced him to
the love of his life, Dolores. Their connection was immediate and enduring. Even as
John served overseas as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army’s 4th Infantry Division, traveling
the world in service to his country, their bond remained strong across every mile and
every moment apart.
After returning home, John and Dolores built a beautiful life together. He went on to a
distinguished career as a manager in financial services with Shell Oil, working in the
iconic Rockefeller Center until his retirement in 1985. His professionalism, integrity, and
keen financial insight earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
A true New Yorker at heart, John was a loyal fan of the New York Mets and the New
York Jets. Through every season—win or lose—he stood by his teams with unwavering
support and enthusiasm.
John’s love of baseball extended far beyond the stands. He played the game
throughout his life, eventually playing for the Long Island Senior Softball Association.
His skill, sportsmanship, and leadership to his teammates earned him a place in their
Hall of Fame in 2001, a testament to his enduring athletic spirit.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dolores, in 2018. He is survived by his
children, Susan and her husband Russell, Steven and his wife Jennifer,
and Michael and his wife Lisa. He was the proud grandfather of Kevin, Kelly, Kimberly,
Diane, John, Zachary, and Emma, and the cherished great-grandfather of Dean, Lucy,
Avery, Harper, Rori, and Nolan.
John will be remembered for his dedicated work ethic, his generosity, playful spirit, and
his deep love for his family, friends, and community. He leaves behind a legacy of
service, honor, and joy.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
